Uninterruptible Power Supply (U.P.S)
An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a device that provides emergency power to a computer or other electronic equipment when the primary power source, such as the utility power grid, fails. Unlike a simple surge protector, a UPS contains an internal battery that kicks in instantly, preventing a sudden shutdown which can lead to data loss or hardware damage. Beyond providing backup power, a UPS also acts as a power conditioner, protecting connected devices from common electrical issues like power surges, voltage spikes, and brownouts, ensuring a consistent and clean power supply.
